Day 1: Mach 23rd. Sunny and 19c. Perfect walking weather. Walked along the Targus and then up along the Tau river before cutting off the WAY to get to our hotel.
My short cut up over the escarpment was fenced so we had to double back to get to an alternative path. It added 2k to our total. Day 1: 16.8 plus the 8 from the Cathedral to our Hotel we did yesterday without our packs.
The back pack was not to heavy. My body did well. The steep hills were slow and my feet did their usual burning soles routine.
All in all a great first day.
Day 2: cloudy with a little misty drizzle the eventually cleared. Didn’t need a rain jacket. Walked from our hotel along a busy road, the A 10 for 3.2k and then back down to the river. It was a very nice walk along the boardwalks and trails.
We did a couple of other busy roadside kilometers, especially at the end as we arrived in Santa des iria and our hotel. We are learning what each other needs as we walk along the WAY.
Less stops for Marie Pier. Scheduled stops for Andrew. At 8 and 12 for foot rest. Etc.
Bring in Day 3!
